Free for companies: lesson 1 and the course map

Instructional design services. See lesson 1 designed and built, free.

Instructional design services plan how people learn before anything is built: what each lesson must teach, in what order, and how you know it worked. Then we build it: script, screens, voice, quiz and a SCORM file.

Send us your slides, SOPs or handbook. In 7 days you get lesson 1 designed and built, plus a map of the whole course. Both free, both yours to keep.

What an instructional designer does with your course, in 5 steps

Design is the thinking before the building. It is why a course works, or does not.

  1. Sets one goal per lesson

One thing people must be able to do after it. Not "understand the policy". "Lock the cash drawer before you leave the desk."

  2. Puts the lessons in the right order

Simple first, hard last. Each lesson builds on the one before. Nothing is taught twice.

  3. Cuts what people do not need

A long slide deck often becomes a few short lessons. People finish short lessons.

  4. Writes the quiz with the lesson

Each question tests the lesson goal. A pass mark says who is ready and who needs another go.

  5. Picks the right format

Watch and quiz, click and try, or a branching scenario. Only as much clicking as the topic needs.

Questions about instructional design services

How long does the design take?

Lesson 1 and the course map take 7 days from the day we get your files. A full 30-minute course takes about 6 to 8 weeks from plan to launch.

What does it cost after the free lesson?

Most company courses cost 2,000 to 10,000 USD. Watch-and-quiz lessons cost about 60 to 100 USD per finished minute, click-and-try 100 to 180, branching scenarios 180 to 300. The cost calculator gives your range.

Do we need our own expert?

It helps. One person who knows the topic answers our questions and checks the facts. We write everything else.

Should we hire an instructional designer instead?

If you build training all year, maybe. For 1 to 5 courses a year, outsourcing usually costs less. Run your own numbers in hire or outsource.

How many revisions do we get?

On lesson 1, revisions until it is right. For the full course, we agree the review rounds in the plan.

Who owns the course?

You keep lesson 1 and the course map either way. We build to the rules you give us; your team signs off compliance.
