eLearning storyboard template
An eLearning storyboard template is a plan for each screen of a lesson: what the learner sees, hears and clicks. It lets your team agree on a course before anyone builds it.
Get our template in Word (a table) and PowerPoint (a slide per screen), with an example row to copy.

How to write an eLearning storyboard
Start with one goal
Write what the learner must be able to do after the lesson. Every screen should help with that.
One idea per screen
Split the content so each screen teaches one thing. Most lessons need 8 to 15 screens.
Write the narration out loud
Short sentences, like you would say them. About 150 words is one minute.
Pick the interaction last
Use a click, a choice or a question only where it helps people practice.
Questions about storyboards
What goes in an eLearning storyboard?
For each screen: a title, the narration, what is on screen, and what the learner does. Some teams add notes for the developer.
Word or PowerPoint?
Word is easier to review and comment on. PowerPoint shows the layout of each screen. You get both.
Can you write the storyboard for us?
